Welcome to Rocky Point Fire & EMS Community-Wide Fuels Reduction –Dump Trailer Program

A blue tarp covers some debris in a forest, with a trailer and a service truck nearby. Text mentions "Dumpy's first day."

Rocky Point Fire & EMS Dump Trailer Program

Defensible space is the buffer you create between your home and the grass, trees, or any wildland area
that surrounds it. Proper defensible space can slow or even stop the spread of wildfire and help protect
your home.

With funds from the Community-Wide Risk Reduction Grant, Rocky Point Fire was able to purchase a
Dump Trailer to assist residents of the district in hauling off flammable vegetation. To facilitate
scheduling, we encourage residents to have vegetation piled up and ready to load.

Trailer Drop-off/Pick-up Information:

Call to schedule 541-356-2100…leave your name and phone number or email Kristi@rpfd.com

Upon delivery of the trailer, residents will load it with vegetation.
Currently, RPFD does not have staffing to assist residents with loading the trailer. We have a list of those
in the community that you may contact for hire or assistance.

Acceptable Trailer items:
*Tree limbs and branches up to 8 inches in diameter.
*Items shall be 8 feet or less in length.
*Pine needles
*Leaves
*Shrubs and shrubbery
*Identified grasses

Unacceptable Trailer Items:
*Trash of any Kind
*Root Wads
*Rocks/Concrete
*Dirt
*Railroad Ties
*Treated/ Painted Wood
*Dimensional Lumber

Upon trailer pick-up:
*Trailers will be evaluated for unacceptable items and damage.
*Mitigation contents shall fit inside the trailer. No vegetation to be placed in the bed of the truck.
*If unacceptable items are found, the property owner will be allowed to remove said
items.
*If the property owner refuses to remove the unacceptable items, the contents of the trailer will be left at
the property.
*Vehicle/trailer access shall be unobstructed for pick-up
Note: if unacceptable items are found in the trailer after the trailer has been removed from the
property, the owner will be contacted and made aware of the items found. The property owner will be
liable for the removal of items found, and will be notified that they will be removed from any further use
of the trailer program.
At this time, this is at no cost to the residents as long as the Four Mile/Cold Springs Quarry remains open
to Rocky Point residents. The Quarry is managed by Fremont-Winema National Forest.
