Residents And Visitors Welcome To Rocky Point Fire & EMS

Rocky Point Fire & EMS emblem from Klamath County, Oregon, featuring a mountain and star of life symbol.

Rocky Point Fire & EMS is an all-volunteer department. We currently have twenty  trained volunteers with six of those being Emergency Medical Technicians. This  dedicated group provides fire and emergency services 24 hours a day. We have many  different opportunities for your participation in emergency and non-emergency activities.

Our fire station is located at 25600 Rocky Point Road, which was rebuilt with grant funds  and donated community labor. The main section houses one structure engine, one large  wildland engine, two water tenders, one Ambulance, and one duty officers’ truck, the  business office and a small kitchen. The south end of the station is now a well-equipped  training facility and community center/library.

Our fire service area covers about 35 square miles that includes the communities of  Rocky Point, Mountain Lakes and Odessa. We also cover a number of unprotected areas  on a Mutual Aid Basis; Lake of the Woods, Fort Klamath, U.S. Forest service and  Oregon State Forestry are some of these.

Our Ambulance Service Area covers about 225 square miles and accounts for about 90%  of our emergency calls. The majority of our calls are traffic accidents on Highway 140.  This ambulance service is not supported by your tax dollars. We offer a subscription  service to cover cost above what your insurance pays to prevent any out of pocket cost to  our community members.

Rocky Point Fire & EMS operates on an annual budget of $100,000.00 dollars. One third  is collected from our tax rate of $1.18 per thousand, one third is contributed back from  our ambulance service activities, and the rest is contributed by the community through  fund raising events and donations.

We deliver professional services in your time of need,

Diann Walker-Pope
Fire Chief
